With that, the Group proves to continue building on the legacy and the strength of the Power Division that was incepted more than 30 years when its subsidiary, Cambodia Utilities Pte Ltd (“CUPL”) signed the first IPP concession in Cambodia with its government agency, Electricite du Cambodge (“EdC”) to design, build, operate and transfer a diesel power generating plant of 37.1MW gross capacity under an 18-year power purchase concession. Back then, CUPL was also required to design, supply and upgrade its power transmission capabilities to enable power distribution throughout Phnom Penh city.

Incorporated in 1970 under the previous founding shareholders, Alpha Industries Sdn Bhd (“Alpha”) is a leading manufacturer of electrical grade copper rods and wires. Today, Alpha is a joint venture company among HNG Capital Sdn Bhd, Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Furukawa Electric Co Ltd.
Sturdy & High Quality Products
Stringent quality control systems are perpetually in place to ensure that all products are of impeccable quality and produced with the highest precision. The copper rods and wires have achieved international standard certifications, including the British Standard BS 4109/BS EN13602:2002, Japanese Standard JIS C3101 & 3102, and American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM B-49. A testament to Alpha's dedication to upholding quality, it is certified with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001: 2004 globally.
METAL
Alpha is headquartered in Johor Bahru and has a second plant in Prai, Penang. It offers products such as copper rods, copper wires and copper welding wires. Through its strategic location in Johor and the proximity of the ports from each of its manufacturing plants, Alpha can better serve customers across the whole Peninsular Malaysia, as well as export customers.

Memorable Hotel & Dining Experiences
This includes Macalister Mansion, a meticulously restored century-year-old colonial heritage mansion located in historic George Town, Penang and the upcoming new five-star luxury hotel The Millen @ Millionaire’s Row, Penang (formally known as The Northam All Suite Hotel Penang) which is currently closed for revitalisation to bring about a fresh new appeal in Q4 of 2024.
Among the restaurants on the F&B list are the one-Michelin-starred Whitegrass Restaurant in the heritage-listed CHIJMES of Singapore, along with Restaurant Blanc in Macalister Mansion where patrons can enjoy exquisitely tantalising dishes and a delightful fine dining experience.
